03 August 2006: The summer heatwave continues. We ventured out to VA Beach yesterday so our German guest Henning could see this side of the Atlantic Ocean. I was surprised to see so many people sitting out on the beach in triple-digit temperatures. Our truck's thermometer read 107 F and the humidity made it feel even hotter. The dark sky hinted at a thunderstorm, but it passed us by. We did not stay outside very long because it was like being in a sauna, but painfully so.
