16 February 2006: We can walk to the Pacific Ocean and the Chetco River Harbor in Brookings, Oregon from where we are camped in Driftwood RV Park. I enjoy watching the waves and finding images in the driftwood on the beach, playing "Can you see me now?" with the cats on the jetty, and trying to snap photos of those elusive CA sea lions. On one warm sunny day recently, this CA sea lion was fishing for salmon in the river near the jetty. He actually came up from his long dive with a big silver salmon in his mouth which he displayed proudly just for a second, then he gulped it down.
