05 June 2006: We have ventured north to Morgantown WV to visit with Tom's family. I was lucky to spot this pink lady slipper plant in Sand Springs Campground where we are staying. I have seen pictures of this plant, but never a real live one in the forest. The lady slipper is the state flower of Minnesota. Tom's parents live in an earth-sheltered home that they built themselves long ago. I feel like a hobbit when I visit them there!
