And the story goes ...
02 May 2006: This photo of a prickly pear cactus flower was taken at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. I still find it amazing that such a dangerous plant with all of those thorny needles can produce a tissue paper-like bloom! Tom and I tried prickly pear in a salad at the ASDM; it tasted like raw potato to me. I'm working on a gallery of photos taken in AZ, NM, and TX, but we're on the road so check back later for an update as to when it has been uploaded to my Smugmug galleries.
