And the story goes ...

08 April 2007: This is a photo of the historic Kirby House in Abilene, Kansas. We ate here on Easter Sunday. This house was built by banker Thomas Kirby in 1885 during the Victorian era. The building was used as apartments for a long time, then restored by the Tietjens to be used as a fine restaurant which was opened in 1987. It is presently owned by Vangie Henry. Her Staff serves traditional midwestern meals of steak, seafood, chicken, and pork. Specialty coffees and spirits are also available. Click on the image to see other photos of this beautiful Victorian-style house in my online gallery, Touring the USA, hosted by Smugmug.
