09 March 2007: The weather has stayed warm and I have ventured back out to St. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach FL several times. The herons and egrets on the rookery on an island in Alligator Lake are busy breeding. I think there are eggs in the nests now because the nests are always protected by one bird lying low in the nest to keep the eggs warm.
There are also many red-winged blackbirds clinging to cattail reeds in the marshes and singing their mating songs.
