And the story goes ...

03 May 2007: Pella, Iowa, is less than an hour away from Des Moines. It is a town of Dutch heritage. Tulip Time is celebrated the first weekend in May.

When we visited this town, we enjoyed Dutch pastries and a tour of the working windmill imported from Holland.

The Pella window and door factory and headquarters is located here. There is a museum and old town square where Wyatt Earp's boyhood home stands. In the museum, there is a huge detailed miniature Dutch village. I especially liked the Christmas scene.
