04 July 2007: This is a photo of Cliff Palace, the largest Ancestral Puebloan cliff dwelling in Mesa Verde National Park in southwest Colorado. The one-hour ranger-guided tour involves descending uneven stone steps and climbing five, 8-10 ft. ladders on a 100 ft. vertical climb. It was HOT and our hearts were beating fast to accomplish this feat at about 7,000 feet altitude, but this is an amazing site to see. Click on the image to see more photos of our travels.
