10 July 2007: This is a photo of some of the mountain scenery along Hwy. 550 from Ouray to Silverton CO. I traveled on this road in another life some 30 years ago and remember it being both beautiful and frightening with its many curves and steep cliffs. I felt the same way today as we passed ghost mines from the days when men came here to find their fortunes in gold and other minerals. And no, we did not tow our 34-foot RV along this highway!
