And the story goes ...

01 January 2005: On September 11, 2001, when the USA was attacked by terrorists,Tom and I lived near Washington, DC, too close to "Ground Zero" for comfort. So, we decided to move to safer ground on the West Coast. In May 2002, we sold our house in Northern VA, packed-up our belongings, and headed west in our Subaru wagon with our two cats in the back. This photo was taken in our "front yard" on the southern coast of Oregon. We never tired of staring at the waves, clouds, and sunsets over the Pacific Ocean. This January 2005, we share the world's sadness at the loss of so many and so much caused by the recent earthquake and tsunami in Southwest Asia and Eastern Africa. This natural disaster reminds us that Mother Nature can indeed be both beautiful and dangerous.
