March 9, 2005: We drove east today through Orange Beach, AL. Hurricane Ivan's wind and water carried the beach inland. This is a pile of sand that may have been an "overwash" from that storm, or it is beach sand that was removed from the roads. It is now sitting in a parking lot of a damaged hotel.
